Chvistari (also called chishdvaar) is cornbread with cheese from Georgia’s Svaneti region. It is also popular in the Samegrelo region.
The main ingredients are slightly salty cheese (Sulguni) from the west part of Georgia and cornflour.
In case you are not successful to find Georgian cheese Sulguni abroad, I would recommend trying a combination of feta and mozzarella.
How to make Chvishtari
Ingredients
2 cups of cornflour.
1 cup of water.
1 cup of Sulguni OR mix of Feta and Mozzarella.
4 Tablespoons of oil if you are frying in a pan, if you are baking in the oven, no oil is needed.

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 450 F/ 230 C
In a medium bowl mix the flour, cheese, water and knead well using your hands for about 3-4 minutes.
Place the parchment paper on the baking dish, make patties (an inch and half thick) and place them on the baking dish.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown.
